May is Celiac Awareness Month, so come on by and pick up some gluten free goodies! We have brownies and lemon bars again this week.
We plan to have a batch of Rhubarb/Strawberry Jam this week. It has a tendency not to stay on the market table for very long, so come sooner than later.
This time of year we are scrounging for things to put on our produce table. We have some fresh spring onions, fresh mints, and fresh oregano.

I have been taking the oregano and making pesto out of it. Chopped real fine with garlic, with a pinch of salt and some walnut oil poured over it, it makes a terrific salad dressing or topping for meat and is ever so good for you!
If you think you don’t like mint, try some freshly steeped in with your green or black tea and add a bit of honey. Fresh mint tea is far superior to the stuff that comes in boxes and bags. Mint is not just a seasoning but another herb that is also good for you.
Please continue to be patient with us as we are slowly getting our produce planted. The ground is still almost too cold, and we continue to wait on the weather. We got some green beans planted yesterday so start looking for them in about six weeks. Our tomatoes look wonderful and while the peppers did not like this latest cold snap they are doing fine.
